We'll start with the top 5 smartphone apps, and explain field test mode later. There are two main ways to check cell signal strength: the field test method and cell signal apps. -100 to -80 means your signal is below average.-65 to -50 means you have very good signal.-50 means outstanding signal (your phone is probably almost touching the cell tower).dBm readings will be between -50 dBm to -120 dBm, with –50 being full signal and –120 being a dead zone. They aren't one-sided and can't be tampered with by your phone manufacturer or carrier. Decibels measure AM/FM radio waves, which are excellent at traveling long distances, but are easily blocked and can become patchy.ĭBm interpretations are a consistent unit of measurement. Mobile signals are measured in decibels (dB) - a logarithmic unit - while signal strength is measured in decibel-milliwatts (dBm). ![]() Fortunately, there is a way of knowing the exact number of decibels (dB) you're getting, for a more precise reading. More bars do usually mean more signal, but there’s no real standard. It's totally arbitrary, and this is true for both 5G and 4G. One bar on AT&T could mean full bars on T-Mobile, which could be two bars on Verizon. That's because they vary, depending on the model of your phone and your cell phone carrier. The cell phone bars reading on your phone isn't reliable. Learn more or call us for a free consultation: 1-80. Take advantage of our system design and installation services. In the best-case scenario, the shoring will stay in place, allowing repairs to be made without closing lanes. highway lanes and increased traffic in the long-term (5 years). In the worst case, the shoring will be removed in stages - one direction, then another - so lanes can be replaced and portions of the road can be kept open to traffic. “The results were very good,” said the engineer, who described two scenarios contingent on the damaged freeway being shored up and supported from underneath. “And I have all the confidence in the world of men and women you see behind me and the pace of their repairs already underway.”Ĭalifornia Department of Transportation engineers met with senior management Monday to provide an assessment of the damage and possible timelines for getting traffic moving again on the mile-long section of the 10 between Alameda Street and the East L.A interchange. “I want to see something much faster,” Newsom added. ![]() In an age where the roles of men and women in relationships, on screen and off, is so heavily picked apart, it is bizarre that writer Stupnitsky would include such a senseless detail. This age difference is constantly reminded throughout the film, repeatedly undermining the humour of scenes and the punchlines of many jokes. One scene in particular sticks out near the beginning of their relationship: Maddie taking Percy into a bar, illegally, denying him his soft drink, and forcing him to drink a long island iced tea, illegally (the drinking age in the USA is 21). Scene after scene follows Maddie trying various schemes in order to get-it-on with Percy, each one more excruciating than the last. What makes this so uncomfortable, notably, is the information we are cursed with early into the film’s runtime – Maddie is 32 whilst Percy is 19. ![]() But the job asks for more than just a date, it requires her to “ date” him in the painfully adult sense.Īs if the concept of parents trying to set-up their teenage son isn’t cringe-worthy enough, viewers are then subjected to the remainder of the runtime, in which they are forced to watch Maddie endlessly pursue Percy in hope of them sleeping together. Conveniently, this is perfect for Maddie as she happens to be an Uber driver and needs an income. She undertakes this by dating Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman), the son of the Becker family (Matthew Broderick & Laura Benati), who have posted an advert for this task with the reward of a car. The storyline opens with Lawrence’s character Maddie tirelessly trying to save her late mother’s house where she grew up and pay her overdue bills. Lawrence, renowned for her discerning role choices, seems to miss the mark in this oddly uncomfortable, poorly-edited summer flick. ![]() …not even Mystique could salvage this wreckage of a filmĭespite the initial excitement, the optimistic energy I held going into the film diminished quickly. Early in the story he is possessed by a vengeful spirit he names Zera, who is desperately trying to get Daniel killed so that he can be free again. Daniel is a dorky, unlikable protagonist who makes crude marks towards female characters, cracks wise about how great he is and generally parrots nearly every fantasy and gaming trope under the sun. While on the subject of presentation, Unepic bombards you with reference after reference, joke after joke, and while comedy is of course subjective, we find this to be incredibly grating. ![]() As it stands, backtracking, grinding and searching for your next destination can get monotonous, even with a mix of side-quests along the way. The castle is well-designed in terms of trap placement and enemy variety, but after you have a few areas under your belt a little extra visual flair would have helped keep things fresh. It doesn't detract from the experience too much, but it certainly doesn't add to it either. The design of the game is decidedly basic, both graphically and musically, with some simple background tunes to set the mood and clunky animations pretty much across the board. That being said, zooming in on the visuals does bring some of their shortcomings into sharper focus. The only real downside to this is that you'll need to memorise all of your hotkey shortcuts to different items, as they won't be displayed on-screen. Your basic view is a zoomed-out perspective on the entire area, with a detailed HUD around the borders of the screen, but there's also the option to toggle a suitably-named 'handheld mode', which removes this HUD in favour of giving a closer view on your character. For this release, the interface has also been slightly revamped in order to better suit the portable nature of Switch, with variations on how you'd like all this information to be displayed. ![]() This is of course particularly useful given that the game doesn't actually pause when going through any of the menus, so you won't have time to think things over in the middle of a heated battle. With all of this gear to organise and stats to keep in mind, the menu system is thankfully very simple, and there are options to create hotkey combos for easy access to your favourite items. Attacking is extremely straightforward, but again it's your stats which affect the speed and power and the mix of weapon types and specialities, as well as crafting material and armour sets, which makes for a capable loot system overall. These skill points can be invested into your skill with the game's arsenal of weapons, ranging from spears and axes, to longbows and magic staffs. There are a variety of difficulty settings available, with the lower end helping you with regenerating health and more forgiving enemies, while the higher peaks require manual saving, make monsters more aggressive and reward you with extra skill points upon levelling up. It's certainly slow and steady going at first, but once you get to grips with the game's wealth of tutorials, you discover Unpeic can be one harsh dungeonmaster. It's a really clever mechanic we didn't expect, and really helps nail that sense of uncertainty as you poke your way around each dark corner. Some areas are practically pitch black, so Daniel's trusty lighter becomes a vital resource for igniting lanterns and torches along the way, providing a comforting glow as well as a breadcrumb-trail of where you've been. This sense of exploration is a huge part of the game, driven by the darkness which shrouds each new room in mystery. There's no clear objective at first, our dopey hero is hardly taking this seriously after all, but along the way you'll find certain sections are locked off, handily guiding you towards where you should be headed first. You'll explore the winding pathways of the castle in large sections that are laid out across a handy map for keeping progress. ![]() Unepic perhaps considers itself to be an old-school experience, but it's closer to a dungeon-crawler than a platformer, despite the 2D perspective. While the actual movement and combat mechanics are quite basic, there's a real depth to the numbers behind every attack you make, every bit of damage you take and every weapon you use. ![]() Playing as Daniel, a geeky stoner who thinks the entire adventure is just some kind of hallucination after one too many beers on game night, you're thrust into the dark depths of a labyrinthine castle, complete with devious traps, hordes of enemies and plenty of hidden secrets to discover. It's a game of two halves really, where a surprisingly hardcore RPG fights for priority over a lighthearted plot, iffy voice-acting and corny jokes. ![]() |
